Sparring with an American friend

I've known Li for years and it was the first time I got to meet him. I knew he practices Shinkendo and various JSA, and if I didn't get it wrong, he was the founder of his club over there in California. We did some intensive sparring and he put up a very good fight. The best katana guy I've faced since I switched to Chinese martial arts. He's also a very tough and nice guy.

And here's the cutting video I did on the same day, practicing a technique specialized against polearms.

I enjoyed the video. It is clear, but, if I may say so, it bounces just a little bit which it makes it a little harder to follow the action.

Your sword simulators move very nicely, like I imagine real katanas might handle. Have you balanced and weighted them like the real thing?

Hello! Thanks for your kind words. Yes, they are balanced and weighted exactly like the real thing. That's why you can see that when my strikes landed on his block, my sword almost always penetrate it due to its higher weight, further out balance than his katana. The technique of my strikes also offered more power.
