Preliminary Review - SKB hard golf case

Post by Tom B. »

I have been looking for a better way to haul my armour and other fighting gear while traveling. Up until now I have used a soft sided golf travel bag with good results. I decided to upgrade to a hard case and the SKB golf cases looked nice and had good reviews. I was leaning toward the deluxe or the staff case when I found the double case on Amazon for $160 shipped. (looks like it now is $186 with free shipping here

It arrived last week an looks great.
It has 3 latches with 2 TSA locks built in.
An air tight seal.
Good sturdy wheels.
Internal dimensions 50"x20"x??? (about 15" - I will measure it tonight)

Here are some pictures.

I also decided to get Desiccant Packs to put in the case to help with rust prevention from condensation during air travel.

My only worry is that the large size may mean some extra charges for baggage. Although I have traveled internationally with an equally large and heavy cardboard box before at no charge.
