Late 13thC/Early 14thC Harness For sale ***SOLD***

Post by Andrew McKinnon »

Would be a great starter kit.

Includes:

Custom made blue aketon with grand assiette sleeves. Suit 6 foot round 90 kilos type of guy.
Maille: elbow length sleeved hauberk, chausses and coif. All FWR and chausses have leather soles put in.
Plate components: soupcan elbow cops, poleyns, gutter vambraces.
Hourglass gauntlets made in 16g mild
Suede coat of plates, very sturdy.
Padded cuisses in blue.
Blue surcoat ready to paint your arms on!!
Great helm with fan crest, torse and mantle in the late 13thC style. Suit 59cm-60cm noggin. solid 16 guage.
I will also include an arming cap as well.

I would like $2,000 all up but because I need the bucks I am gonna offer it to the archivers for $1,750 plus postage and handling. I can probably swing a fairly inexpensive delivery to CONUS with DHL.

Yes I will put some individual photos up this week. Over the next weekend I will get it all together as well.

Enjoy my pain! I gotta fund a 15thC joust harness folks!!!

Would you be willing to break up the kit at all? I would definitely be interested in certain pieces.

Hi Andrew,

There's interest in a staple group-buy. Could we have a couple more pics, especially COP and gauntlets? Plate bits would be good too.

Sure would! I can't stand waiting for the market to pick back up in armor, but like a used car, I can't get the desired returns on armor right now. I have the good fortune of being able to meet up and make armor with the fellow who used to make Kelly Bailey's armor in the 90's so I might be able to get an entire 1470's harness done by spring.
