Here's a green wool 6 panel had with mink trim. It's comfortable (very) on my 24 inch melon, so could probably go a bit bigger. My daughter (pictured) has a 22 inch head.

It was described as coating weight- I'd call it a medium weight wool. I have enough left for one more hat.
