Pennsic Regrets

Post by ThorvaldR Skegglauss »

This past year was my first Pennsic ever. I had a great time. At the end these were my basic comments:

Week 1 is a Frat Party for geeks

Week 2 is War which was fun with some Geeky Frat Party still left over.

I was jetlagged and dealing with that insane humid heat for the first time. I missed out on a few things but got to do a bunch of others. But there were two things I didn't do that I must atone for this year.

I owe Thorvald Weretiger an Axe fight

I owe Leo Medii a "fight".

I vow to make this up this year, assuming both of them make it to Pennsic.

Just have fun and do right by yourself and others.

Your Grace,

I owe you a fight.

I owe many people fights. I would like to start with you.
Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy. Churchill, 1941

I feel you brother, and I'm from North Carolina where it's even more hot and humid. Still, I spend the first two days of war trying to acclimate to life without air conditioning. After I drag my sorry, sweaty butt back from the battlefield I usually collapse in my tent. I'm not back to normal until Wednesday or so. Still, it's an unparalleled experience. Pity I can't go this year. Stupid work.

I'm glad I don't pick fights. I pick frats!
