Munitions Grade Arms @ Gulf Wars

Post by Baron Eirik »

I went a little nuts ordering and I'm bringing two tons of rattan to Gulf Wars this year. I've got lots of Thug and Boom sticks, as well as a pile of 1.25" shaved. Of course I'll have a huge pile (~350 sticks) of regular rattan like always. The only thing I'm a little shy on is the Premium Straightened. There was a clerical error overseas and the importer only received part of his order. I'll have 125 sticks of the Premium, but that will be all there is for this Spring and Summer. I might be able to get more for Pennsic, we don't know yet.

Now, my insane plan is that this will be enough that what I bring home will be close to what I normally keep on hand so I won't have to pay to get more shipped right after.

I'll also have some more flat sided lengths and wasters. I'll post a list of wasters when I have'em in hand.

Gulf War Price list
Regular rattan $13
Premium rattan $20
Thug Sticks $30 (45mm - 55mm dia.)
BOOM Sticks $40 (55mm - 65mm dia.)

1.25" Shaved $20
1.5" Shaved $22
1" Shaved $5 (Clearance until it's gone)

I still have a little Siloflex in stock

100psi CA tubes (56"long) $30/dozen
160psi Sword tubes (42") $5 each

When I get my shipment of thrusting tips, I'll post a full price list of those, too.

Are you going to have sword length stuff as well? In 1.25" shaved?

Pick a stick, tell me how much of it you want, $0.20 an inch for the 1.25" shaved. :)

In other words, I'm probably not gonna get much cut ahead of time, but I'm always happy to get the saw out.

Have plenty of thug sticks, I just have no regular sticks :) I can remedy that there at your booth if I make it to Gulf. :) And a Big Boom stick, yes, I needs it, I needs it, precious.

When are you going to be packing up to leave?

I've started packing

The major loading of the trailer starts as soon as I get the trailer back, I took it in for basic maintenance yesterday (lube, electrical check, tire check, etc.)

I leave Friday evening 3/11.

And, as an FYI, I won't be coming back right away after Gulf Wars. I have a conference for my regular job starting that Sunday (3/20) in New Orleans. I won't be back in Indy until Thursday night 3/24 and won't start unpacking/unloading until that Saturday.

I'll be able to answer emails & messages (here and Facebook) some, but not able to ship anything probably until 3/28 at least.

It's possible. Best to send me an email reminder Monday, or Tuesday before 4pm to make sure I remember.

Master Eirik,
I'll be there all the time(5 minute drive). Can I get a discount if I buy the 1" shaved from you in bulk? Just wondering....gotta lot of little fighters I have to make swords for.

Inge Bjornson

Oh and I will hopefully have enough to get a few sticks of the 1.25" shaved as well!

It's already at $5 per 9' stick, but if you buy enough of it, yeah, I'll knock some more off.

Well since it's in 9' sections I'll prolly only need 3 maybe 4. figured it would be coming in smaller bits. But yeah that'll work.

Despite disappearing over this weekend (mix of RL and prep for Gulf Wars), everything is still on track to leave Friday evening. Probably won't be able to send anything out after Wednesday.

And, of course, I'm now rushing at work to get things done before leaving, too.

The `1 1/4 by 7/8 size? How many do you need? I've got some left, not a huge amount, but a couple dozen or so.

Tomorrow, 6pm Eastern, will have to be the cut off for any orders to go out before Gulf Wars. Not enough time after that.

Last orders before leaving will be dropped off at USPS & UPS later today. Rattan is loaded. Now I have to finish packing & loading all the rest of the stuff.

The one downside to having so much rattan delivered down there is that I have to load it in the trailer at the Hattiesburg YRC depot at 7am Monday, then get it unloaded back at camp before 10am to open.

Thrusting tips should be arriving today. I'll be fully stocked with low-compression(single hand) tips, low-profile(2 hand) tips and 3" spear tips.

Unfortunately my 2" tips are on back-order.

And I have plenty of flat-topped PVC caps for spears, too.

I was just thinking about you, actually.

I'm thinking I'm gonna need some help picking up my rattan from the shipping dock early Monday morning. Somehow the idea of loading 38 bales of rattan from the dock to the trailer, then from the trailer to the racks by myself seems less than a brilliant plan. The wife suggested asking you for help. It means leaving site around 6am Monday morning, hopefully getting back around 9 or 9:30am and getting unloaded before 10am when we have to be open.

Done. Unless my social coordinator has other plans for me. No battles on Monday either. Why do I feel like I'm getting the short end of the ... wait for it, wait for it ...Stick.

Edit because it late and I can't seem to string a sentence together.
