Claymore Sword Blank Wanted-Good Steel!

Post by Dryn Valar »

Hello everyone, Im new to the site but have been leatherworking for a while and doing a bit of metalwork as well on some smaller projects. Im looking for an affordable sword blank preferably quite large but not so large as to be unwieldy for a smaller person. Im intending to use this for a custom project and I hope someone on here can help me out or point me in the right direction! Thanks so much!

When you say sword blank do you mean a piece of metal to be ground into a sword. One that is started and just needs finishing or one that is finished but not hilted?

Helps to know exactly what you want.

There are several sources from which one can get a sword blade and complete it yourself. I have a couple blades waiting on the combination of inspiration and opportunity to turn them into weapons...which I will then, most likely, sell here as neither of them fit my persona. What was I thinking? :?

Thanks for the Welcome Frank! And to Thomas, one that is in need of finishing or finished but not yet hilted. The blade can be rather plain as the bulk of my project really consists of the hilt. Thanks!
