I am looking to see what others are using for low profile, hidden leg armor for sca combat. What works and what doesn't? Pics would be awesome, and any advice as well...

Ectomorphs will be fine. Endomorphs will not. Mesomorphs are a crap shoot. Maybe. But if you get them from Amazon, you can return them if they don't fit.
Calf protection? As in, the back of your lower leg? Not one bit.

do you have pics of your leg armor both covered in armor and out of armor?
A
They are just $3 carpenter knee pads riveted to steel knee cops. Sadly, the cops are about 2 sizes too big, so they are a little more bulky than I would prefer, but they work. Pic: Here they are in action (I am on the left):

For my landsknecht kit I use a pair of carpenters knee pads (hard plastic over the front of the knee) with a 2.5" x .25" thick leather square laced to the. Sides of the knee as wings. The leather squares havea hole at the back with a shoelace that ties behind my knee to hold the wings in close. I think they are the bare minimum in legality for knee protection. I really want to find something a little less sketchy so I don't have to worry as much about the stray knee shots, but want as low a profile as possible so they blend with my hosen.
I use a street hockey knee pad setup. You can see it below along with my arm armor. I removed the plastic knee protection and sewed in some velcro. Then I glued velcro to a set of stainless knee cops and wa-lah! Removable knees for washing the padding.
They work great under my chausses on my Norman kit (Green painted helm with the blue chausses) and my Slavic/Rus kit. (see below) I also wear them under my chain chausses and have no issues with that either.
In case you were wondering, I do not wear anything on my upper legs.
Heinrich, there's nothing much to that type technically. It's a gamboised cuisse, stuffed/splinted with lengths of garden hose inserted into it. Very little padding needed, maybe 1 layer of quilters' batting or something on the inside. Either lace shut semipermanently down the inseam, or just build the whole thing all the way around your leg -- likely with much less hose coverage area on the inner thigh -- and you put them on like a pair of shorts. A belt or a C-belt holds them up nicely, as they are light.
