Yeh! The more the merrier!!! If their fighting for the middle I'll welcome them as shield brothers, if their fighting for the Meridian Army I'll welcome them with my mace! (yah right  ) LOL

And with with a beer (or other libation) after the battles!!!

I joined in the East, back when I was 11. I more than welcome the Easterners - and will send them back after too much champagne.

Thorstenn, that SUCKS. We will seriously miss you.

Yeah, the contractions sped up last night. Not close enough apart that we have left for the hospital yet, but close enough that I was uncomfortable being an hour drive away.

I had a blast until I buggered up my knee.
Sorry I bailed after the fighting but it was getting hard to walk.
I'm better today but my knee is one big bruise.
(nobody's fault btw)

Then, respectfully, you've not been paying attention....

I always enjoy Border Raids and seeing my friends from the Midrealm, it is one of my 5 favorite events. Lots of great fighting, this year.

I was talking with a guy down from the Chicago area (CRS-ing his name), and he'd brought 5 guys with him that had never been down to Border Raids before. And they were all stoked about going back and dragging other Midlanders down next year. They had a blast.

I just hope next year it's not on the same weekend as Aethelmarc War Practice.

No offense Omarad, but that was one situation where I was glad you "missed" me, further in future interactions of the type I hope you continue to "miss" me....it was like being a stunt double in "Psycho" - jeeze! However, I do offer my thanks and express my enjoyment for the dance, you sir are quite light on your feet....

Congrats to the Bears!
Really kicked the Midrealms ass.

(and yes I'm a Midrealmer, a premiere of the Red Company, and hate seeing our asses kicked, but Kudos are kudos)

Anyone take any pics? I want to see if my streak of making it through large events un-photographed is still going.

Malcolm, aside from some pretty good SCA people like Arnora, one of my professional photographers from the magazine was there—Ron Manville. He shoots a lot of living history stuff mundanely. He got about 600 good shots - I've already seen some (wow, some of the best fighting shots I've seen ever).

He'll have a number up on his facebook page later, and will make individual shots for people who want copies available cheaply, as Ursus does, in the not-to-distant future. I'll post the links when I have them.

I hope he will have enough fun and make just enough money to pay for his expenses to be for us and the Mid what Ursus is to Atlantia. Nice guy.

Actually, since I have missed two (three?) Border Raids since 1987, I have been paying attention. I have never seen you guys fight like that before. The intensity level was significantly higher.

Thank you Sir Vitus. We've been working to try and build towards an army and fighting with a high level of intensity. Good to know it's starting to pay off. :)

His first 5 photos have me drooling for more. I can't wait. With 600 photos I doubt he will post them all on Facebook, will he post them somewhere else? I would gladly pay for some good photos.
