for those in the market, this is an amazing helm. I have seen it a few times now, and it is one of my favorite rus jobs. not only is it windrose, which speaks to it's quality, but it has been taken care of. At $1000 it is worth every cent.
completly off topic, will I see you at Highlands this weekend?
Somebody really needs to buy that damned helmet! It is my dream helm and I am sick of seeing it pop up when I can't possibly afford it! John/Drefan

Dang dang dang. That is a couple lbs heavier than my neck can currently deal with. Thank you for weighing it though. Maybe seeing it again will give someone that final nudge to get them to buy it. Good luck with it. It is a beautiful piece.
angelknight, It looks pretty nice even without the mail so you could remove the mail and save a few pounds. Maybe replace it with a leather drape. Then again, some of the mail weight will rest on your shoulders instead of your neck.
Alden we could also look at swapping the mail from stainless to Titanium to drop some of the weight. That would probably get the helm down to around 10lbs

This helm is pretty sick. It was one of my "Off The clock" side Jobs. I have built a few others since. One of them was a pretty sweet Stainless Antiqued with a antiqued brass ocular with scalloping and punch work.
I should build something cool for Pennsic if I have time.
it is quite depressing seeing this helm not sold by now. If money just grew on trees around here i would snatch this up right now. But alas...all the cash trees have been cut down around here.
