Your Grace, are you ever going to offer a block of the material so someone can cut their own shapes? Thank you.

How are these mounted? What keeps them from spinning? How well do they take abuse such as yanking shields out the way?

Sheesh. Don't you have enough of my money? I've used By My Hand axes for years, and I am pretty damn certain that if you contact cement the eye of the foam axe to the haft of rattan, it will stay. Probably longer than you want it to. I can hang my entire armored weight off a tree limb by hooking a by my hand axe off the limb. I haven't tried Ice's, but my intuition tells me this is superior.

Probably not. Not much into the raw material thing other than rattan.

What about scrap from the cutting of these axe heads? I have had an idea that would use small chunks of high density foam for the boffer group I play with. if this foam is sufficient for SCA combat, then it should be perfect for what I had in mind. peices would need to be around 3"X3" or larger

Those look pretty slick! Can they be used effectively as-is (just covered in tape), or would they benefit from a rattan clacker or some-such?

You can use them as is, or tape them. You do not ned a clacker on these. They will move very fast in your hands, so you get a pretty decent amount of force without concussing your opponant.

Personally I've always liked the look of bearded axes. I've cut portions off of your pictures to see what they would look like if I cut the top off myself, but the proportions are off. Of course, you might be better served by conducting a survey or something.
