new armor for my son. FINISHED!!! NEW PICS.
so we gave the armor to my son today,
to say he was surprised was an understatement.
wore it most of the afternoon.
the helm should be done some time next week.

Re: new armor for my son. new pics.
the sword is actually about 6 inches short of legal length limit. i think the width makes it look huge though.

Does your boy have a blond mohawk? because that would be awesome.
The kit does look amazing, and he certainly looks stoked to be wearing it.
What did you make the swords from?

Re: new armor for my son. new pics.
yes he has a mohawk, right now the sides are grown out a bit but he's had it since he was 4.
we always give him the option to change it but he likes so it stays. even when he gets teased at school he couldnt care les.

Re: new armor for my son. helm progress pics!
ok, here are some progress pics of the helm for this kit.
the plates are aluminum covered in leather.
all thats left is riveting, attaching the drape and adding the horse hair.

I hope I might be able to come up with something at least half as cool as that if/when my son decides he wants to hit people for fun. Seriously awesome. You and your son are both lucky to have each other.

Awesome! A Dropkick Murphys shirt!
The armour is pretty neat too I guess...
He will look better than 90% of the heavies out there. Can't wait to see how he looks when he eventually picks up rattan!

I am jealous of your sons armor!
Man.. this is how to do it.. start their bar high when young.. he will never wear generi-gear covered by a bedsheet on the field!
You are totally badass.
