Knight's of Iron promotional video (jousting)

Our competition teams promotional video. Not a bad alternative to Pennsic getting to joust.

That's awesome!
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit. -Aristotle

Toward the end you get a neat "ride" and see what it looks like to get blown off the horse. Never seen one with a lance cam before.

Neither have I. Loved the perspective though. Now to get that hooked up to a vibration chair so you can feel the impacts! hehehe...

Those little action cams are a hoot!

John Woods & crew used one all over the OMSG camping event, even sticking it in the middle of armoured fights. His wife Liz put this together:

Kel,

Were those the crazy Russians that were on the other side of the melee? And is it just me, or does Dave C. (I'm assuming its Dave since no one else is that tall) look like Godzilla in that grand bascinet? Looks like the event was a blast.

Yeah, the local Skallagrims. They are a scream to hang out with even if they are severely misguided about the reality of "killing' through armour. And Dave is seven feet tall in harness. One of the Skalla's managed to hip throw him earlier in the day. The next time he tried Dave fell on him like a giant redwood. Epic.

You guys have to come next year! It is an amazing event, fighting and socializing. Leo can show us some horsey tricks....

Hope this gets taken as constructive criticism, rather than simply being negative:

But personally, the intro/outro bit of computer-generated text from about 0:12s to 0:22s, and again at 2:25s to 2:40s really jars with the style of the rest of the footage, its the sort of look thats dated quite badly, and does'nt have the same production value as the rest.

Feels out of place with the subject matter, if that makes any sense?

Other than that... you lucky git. Looks great. :)

No harm in the critique, the team captain had this done and I just was geeked about the video showing some tilting.

Here is some more :D

THIS IS AWESOME. Wow, where is this? I see Dale in there, he is one awesome guy, got to joust him once. He broke my winning streak at our tourney by one lance. Grr...... :D

Looks cool, but the main thing I remember is the chap wearing musculata with a bascinet and pauldrons with rolled edges. I assume what we didn't see was the flint axe head in the pocket of his combat trousers, and the saxon round shield he had slung across his back.

I dunno, I don't want to be 'that guy', but for me, I was thinking about that hodgepodge kit all the rest of the video, time I should have been spending thinking "wow this is awesome!"

Awesome!

If you'd like a bit of professional insight for the next iteration:

(1) What Suzerain said about the titles and such. Trying too hard with the "cool" video editing software.
(2) As a promotional video, it doesn't do much promoting. You really need some up-front explanation of what I'm watching and why I might be interested. There's absolutely no setup or description of what the heck I'm watching at all. I see what's going on, but what do you guys do? Where and how and when do you do it? Why should I be interested (what, exactly, is being promoted?
(3) One word. LanceCam (or JoustCam). Trademark it. Create a YouTube channel (The exclusive Knights of Iron LanceCam channel). Get video all the damn time. That shit's awesome.

Amazing stuff (as always)!! Keep up the Excellence!
