Sold Pend - Roman Gladiator Provocateur Helm (SCA) Stainless

Post by Syrfinn »

Hi folks, bought this at Pennsic from a friend who was going a different route. I thought it would be fun to go this route for a bit. But well to be honest, I'm stepping away from SCA for a bit. If I come back, it will be going in a different direction, so going to sell it to someone who will have a blast with it. It really is an awesome helm, made by Dirks Metalworks, which I believe is no longer in business.

It is stainless, fits my head which is 23.5" with 1" open cell foam in it like a glove. Honestly, this thing with that padding is so comfortable. If you want me to leave the padding in it with the chinstrap set up I have, I will.

I bought it for $400, and honestly, thats all I want for it, and I wont go lower. Only reason I am selling it for this low, is cause its what I paid for it, so would rather let someone else get the great deal like I did.

Any questions, please feel free to ask.

Thanks for looking

Nice one. Not for me, but it's nice. A steal for somebody.

This was always a gorgeous helm. I totally coveted it when Dirk made it and $400 is a steal. I'd considder it for a Gladiator kit if Great Western War wasn't around the corner.

Very interested in this helm! I am pretty much ready to take the plunge and claim it, depending on a few questions. I have a 22.5 in head. will this helm fit me? or will it be too big? How much would it be to ship to Colorado?

Agmuntr, I am pretty sure it would fit you fine, specially if you use open cell foam like I have in it now. If you get it, if you would like, I can leave the padding I have in it to give you a feel or just to use, will leave the chinstrap setup also in it.

As far as shipping, I am charging a flat $20 for inside US. All the other helms I have shipped have been between $20 to 25 USPS Pri.

Very awesome helm. If I was doing a gladiator persona and if it fit me I'd buy that in a heartbeat, very cool looking and a pure steal at 400.

Sorry to see you stepping back Finn, and sad in a way to see the helm going. The new owner will love it and $400 is half what this helm was new circa 5 years ago when my former knight, Count Robin, had it made.
