Yep my armor was stolen

Post by Felix »

I am laughing my ass off. Some retard stole my POS truck and left my wifes expensive Caddy alone. The real bitch is that all my armor was inside, I mean all of it, both sets, weapons, shields, gauntlets. So when this dork tries to sell it on Ebay let me know so the police can arrest them. Sigh I know I said I wanted to make new gear but I didn't mean like this. This really is funny!

It'd be easier to know if it was your armor being sold if you provided pictures, or perhaps a description beyond "my armor". ;)

Also, you file a police report yet?

Laugh or cry, Dread Lord.

And in the end it all equals out, so if he's looking at in a cosmic mathematics sort of way, good news is around the corner IMO because this is definitely not good news.

Better to laugh than cry. Will keep an eye out for it on ebay, and heck will even keep an eye out for it on Craigslist here in pittsburgh. I know its a little bit of distance, but well its not that far and have seen it in the past.

POS truck easy to steal.....nice caddy not so much... sorry to hear about the armor... had some idiot try and steal my truck back in 2002... didn't get it, but they took my helmet bag.. never recovered the helm but I got a nice fat 2300 check....
oh yeah, thehelm is around somewhere, the douche bags friend brought it out to the practice I used to go to and tried to sell it for 500 bucks.... he scrammed when he was told it was stolen property... I miss that helm....

Well that sucks. I had a blast fighting you in that rig! it's wonderful looking to say the least. Guess that means I gotta cancel my bid on Egay! I thought 80$$$ was cheap! J/k, I'd go at least 150 ;)

Felix, this is gutting.

You cut a hell of an impressive figure on the field, and the thought of that kit being in the possession of one who would look at it and go "Wha?.....?" makes me feel sick.

I'm sorry, man. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

just to second the earlier thing. when a car is stolen, homeowner or rental insurance can cover all of you possessions that are in the vehicle, and not mounted to it.

If it's something you made, you can try to get your hourly rate x amount of hours, but they would often rather find something similar and pay that instead. My CoP went from 700 bucks down to 200 pretty quick :-)

Don't forget to file a detailed police report with the photos of your stolen armor. That way when it does show up on Ebay you've got some ground to stand on.

It'll be REALLY funny when the Police notify you that a suspect was caught, and is in the courts system. I know how it goes, that's how I get when stuff actually gets to me...can't help but laugh.

I'll keep an eye out on ebay...remember to keep an eye out on the craigslist as well, it may pop up there. Also, what Sjolander said.

And the reason the caddy may still be there is if it has OnStar built in...thieves are getting smart to avoid that shit.

Your Grace, would you like to borrow armour to fight at Roundezvous? No doubt House Atzinger is composed of individuals similar to you in size and the majority of us are not fighting so we can MIT. Let us know what we can bring.

No word, my insurance claim is filed and I am working on temp. gear to get me by until I have my new stuff replaced. I am off work today building armor, I will try to get some pics up of what my get me by gear looks like. Thanks again everyone for the help, jokes and encouragement. So many people have offered gear (4 free helms and 4 loaners, shields, arms, legs, you name it) to me it has been overwhelming. I even had a well known Armorer tell me to go to his site and just order whatever I wanted and to pay me whenever I got the money...that was largess. No, I didn't take him up on it but that is not the point. The point is the next time people say "people ins the SCA suck!" Well, maybe some do but the ones I know are pretty damn great.

Felix,

amazing isn't it? All the bickering and yet if someone has problems people step up to help. I have only been to the past 2 Pennsic's and yet both years I ran into impromptu "charity" fights for people down on thier luck. Either loss of job or this year hospital bills. I have been happy to do some pick up fights and donate some money for them. I even got to step in for a while and hold the field this year to help when Vlad's polearm broke. Yep, pretty amazing overall.
