need advice and power steering unit for a 93 dakota sport V6

Guys,

My truck ('93 Dodge Dakota, 3.9l hot water V6) needs a power steering unit. It is actually really tough to find a power steering unit for an old dodge truck in southern Germany.

So, If any of you is in the auto parts business, I would certainly like to buy one. I'm serious. I have been through two different parts houses that say the have one, only to be told that that product couldn't be shipped.

The advice I need is this. The PS pump is part of a system. In my experience, when a single part of a system is going bad, it's a good reason to inspect/repair/replace some of the other parts of the system.

Is there a "Power steering system maintenance kit" that, for instance, has a whole bunch of gaskets in it?

Am I stupid to be thinking this way?

The pump is just that.. a pump.. and typically it has a high and low pressure side that feed to, and from, the steering unit. Probably (if it's the unit itself that's shot) the only thing you are going to need to worry about are the washers where the pressure hoses bolt into it.

I have the same truck in 4X4 and have used this place a few times
ps I'm scraping the truck this fall so if you can ship it to Germany you can have it!

I've dealt with him before, he's a good guy and likes the Mopars and will be your best bet to find it, in country. If he can't help, I'm A Dodge Parts Guy & I ship all over the world, but I stick with the older stuff. So its not something I have in stock, I can probably get it for you. If he falls through get me a list of what you need I'll see what I can find.
