I'm hoping that the passes that Brian Stephenson and I did for them make it in the show. One of the guys I tilt with is one of the guys on the show. He is a great guy, with a great family. Give it a watch and help support the sport!

There seems to be an unco amount of trash-talking going on. Hardly supports the idea of a chivalric sport.

I put this under the tag of "any press is good press".

Knowing the people in it, it is not surprising it's going to be a drama fest, edited for maximum reality show ratings.

If that's what they're looking for then they found the right group.
This is Charlie Andrews' troupe - the guy who claimed to be a SEAL.
It's all just goobdooberous fripdippery now.

Hmm...whichever came first, the other is going to be stiff competition most likely. NatGeo vs History Channel...awesome.

But with the caveat that people seem to be glossing over because of the photos of guys wearing metal armor, is that they are going to be wearing "state of the art protective gear" and not necessarily metal armor.
It might be less Maximillian and more Mad Max.

I would submit that "state of the art" protection for jousting would be 15th-16th century jousting harness. Whether the producers would agree, of course, is another question.

Terrible armour, and everything I've heard about the people in it is bad as well. This is not something I'm going to be making time for when it finally crosses the pond.

As for the real metal jousting? I'm worried about that too. As someone else said, state of the art armour is 15th or 16th century armour. No-one has made anything better. I'm a bit worried for the poor trusting competitors who are putting themselves in harms way for a show that clearly doesn't have the time or budget to protect them properly.
