Leather Demis and Gaunts

Our gaunts and demis are the result of our desire to produce the very highest quality of hand protection for early period SCA personas.

While all our gaunts and demis are water hardened, Old Realm Trades goes through the extra step and carefully treats each piece with wax to further the hardening process and protect them from elements. Both gauntlets and demis offer full metacarpal and wrist protection and our gauntlets feature our improved thumbs.

Each set is custom made to the patron's personal requirements, rather than off the shelf sizing. Because each set of gauntlets is custom made to your specifications, custom tooling, painting or embellishments are available.
Also available low profile brown and low profile cuff.

No SCA armor comes strapped. Because people come in so many sizes, and because there are so many different styles of strapping, all our armor comes unstrapped. This does not mean that I don't know how to do it, but I really don't know how you want it. I am more than happy to strap your gauntlets, but you must tell me about your strapping style, if not you will have to add them yourself. Everyone has their own way of strapping, which is why most SCA armour isn't sent out strapped. Strapping is only 75 cents per strap to cover cost of material.

Out time on gauntlets runs 5-8 days upon receiving your measurements. Out time on demis is 5 days upon receiving measurements.
