I have a question...I've been searching the site but w/out any real identifiers, I'm making zero headway. Last week or the week before I came across a thread that had a pic of a Hospitaller Knight (think he was a Hospitaller, definitely Crusade era) - all in black with a really great helm, a great kit overall. I can't remember his name or the thread, can anyone help? I thought it was either this or the 'show us your kits' thread but I didn't find that pic in either one. I wish I had saved it but didn't think to at the time as I found it most inspirational. Thanks.

Looking good. The leather edging on the lamellar really sets it off. And your 4 year old is a pretty good camera wielder.

You are off to a fine start. Probably better than most of our first kits.

May I suggest that your first priority for upgrade be a helmet. Then some greaves.

What kind of helmet is that you have on? At first glance I thought spun dome, but it isn't. I see a ridge, and are those rivets or articulation in the back?

The Helm is an AB sallet. 60$ used then wire brushed and blackened. Greaves are next on my list. I might make some splinted ones using the left over leather from the brig but I would really prefer steel.

Your kit looks great, as always. I am really digging the torque(?) around your helm. Is that just for the Deed or do you wear it on a regular basis?. Also, it looks like you made your splinted greaves more fitted. Am I correct in my belief?

Thanks, man. The torse is both stylish AND it conceals the hideous scalloping I did to attach the cap plate. This helm was the product of two very hurried armoring sessions and so some corners were cut and sacrifices made. A new, better helm is forthcoming in the near future, but for now I wear a torse at all times

Those are the same splinted greaves as before, with the notable exception of having been soaked in rainwater and left for a day without my knowledge. So they were both nauseatingly vile smelling AND form fitting for that picture!

My upcoming upgrade to steel-splinted limbs will see an attempt at fitting my greaves to my calves better though.

The rivet holes actually match up fairly well on the Zweihammer V6 with the RQP brasses. Not saying it is an exact match, but it is not too difficult.
