Just remember, no matter how "cute", it will lose its appeal quickly if it is not functional: if you can't see in it, can't breath in it, it catches swords, etc.

This might sound crazy, but what if the helm had horse hair pigtails? Really that's the only thing I can think of for cute armor

Actually if she is a "small" lady. Any helm actually made to fit her will look cute. Instead of some oversized bucket. Jackie made my lady a very simple Romano/Brit/vikingish helm. She is small. The helm is also small to fit her. It is a "cute" helm. Just sayin'

Maybe a "what sort of thing to you mean by 'cute'?" directed towards her will help you narrow it down a little.

Guy:

"Cute" of course, is subjective. Though I always thought that the best chance to be "cute" was with the helms with faces. And you don't have to be an inauthentic Pink Vader, neither.

Armstreet makes one:

Image

Windrose has one (you could leave off the mustache, of course):

And if you're looking for one more *western* European and later period, there's a gothic/Maximilian version:

Hope that helps!

My Wife's helm came out to a little more than that. I really recommend Two Ravens. Good communications and really nice guy! He even sent the horse plume with it and managed to match my wife's hair color without ever seeing a picture of her. I only told Ruthardis that my wife is blonde!

Grant you, this doesn't do a thing to help with the original topic.

A "cute" helmet. Somewhat rus in styling, for a budget of about $300.

Sir Guy,

Have them look through cataloge of helms on Phoenix Steel's website and Flickr page. Most of our helms in SS will be out of their price range but we've started doing more carbon steel and I'm sure we can do something in their range.

Ornate grill work with clean lines is the way to go. Personally, my wife wears a chain mail "beard" and a codpiece so no one can tell she's female. As she puts it, she gets better fights that way.

You can also find a gallery of pic scrounged from the net with the help of the women from the Club and people from the Archive here:

The thing I learned putting all the pics together is that women are wearing a great variety of different kinds of armor, just like their male counterparts.

could add some copper or brass accents = cute helm

Agreed. My sister and I are *really* tiny, and Jackie also made helms for us that fit perfectly. Very simple, but the proportions are just right. They even have space for the semi-obligatory fighter-pigtails to hang down

Sir Guy: There are probably some pictures of those helms floating around from when you were still here in Ponte Alto. If you find one, might be worth posting.

Here's a sexy helm and a variation is being made for one of our "cute" Combat Archers as I speak...

She is having legal grill work go all the way around it and will have padded "wig style" (for lack of better term) that covers from one side of her head, around the back and to the other side of her head. It is going to have engraving on it. Her's is a simple version.

What Is a cute helm?
I chose urban dictionary. No "cute helmet" but I did find a pretty general cute description with examples
1) used to describe little kids doing funny things
2) someone that is attrative in an innocent way
3) used to describe someone or an act that's sweet, nice
4) something that you just want to squeeze, or keep
5) used to refer to something little, or related to being young
6) someone doing something silly, special
1) the baby is so cute when she dances in her mom's high heels
2) he's sooo cute but he doesn't seem like a wild sex machine.
3) it was so cute when johnny gave me a stuffed ewok and lolly pops from disney land!
4) that little puppy is so cute that i want to have it near me in my pocket because it makes me happy.
5) that pink, sparkly fairy princess dress was very cute!
6) it was cute when he told me that he had a secret, and then told me that he loved me in my ear

I do have some style viking helms that seem to attract more female fighters however.
