help with a gothic Spalder/rearbrace, with a twist

Post by freiman the minstrel »

Guys,

I need to solidify a design for a tattoo. It will be a spalder/rearbrace tattoo.

I don't know how to nail down exactly what I want. I have been trying to draw it out on flat paper, and then trying to draw it out on paper that has been curved (like an armor pattern) and I am just not making it happen. I just can't do the visual stuff.

Honestly, I want it to match the bruises I got when I started with my current training partners back in November of last year.

I have been looking for the right artist for a while, and not really thinking about the design.

But, I am about to buy the tickets for a Thai tattoo artist to fly from Hawaii to Europe to tattoo it on me in eight months or so. This is pretty much flying the artist to the opposite side of the planet.

I want it to look like a high Gothic spalder/rearbrace, from collarbone to elbow, extending into the pect and latt areas, and I would like to have Latin bible verses inscribed on the armor.

I need help solidifying this.

Thanks,

freiman

I've heard of using tape and plastic wrap to make a cast to aid in patterning those areas--maybe that would help?

I would def use the tape idea. Tape it up, mock off all of your marks while on your arm, peel it off and then refine after it it flattened. You will have to cut it to flatten it.
