Gift for an Aztek

Post by Nissan Maxima »

Glaukos and I were talking about Sir Ix's great display of chivalry in not winning the last Midrealm crown so we decided to give him a present. Glaukos got some obsidian knapped and I made an ebony mahaquatal to put them in. These picture are weirdly foreshortened except for the in progress shot that has just the club portion.

I gave it to him today at practice. He is a cool cat.

By the way, it would suck to get hit with one of these. A lot.

The only better gift might have been a virgin for sacrifice, but I understand that these are in short supply among the Dread Lord's minons.

I think the Knowne World in general is not precisely teeming with them either... 8)

Nissan -as usual- showed not only his generosity but his wood working talent. I had not seen the piece complete until now and I can only say that it is worth of the man in whose hands Nissan delivered it. I was honored and humbled to be part of this.

Dread Lord, Glaukos, this was most nobly conceived and executed. Inspiring.

Just from looking closely at the pictures, I'm going to guess that he used marine epoxy mixed with ebony dust.

Amazing does not begin to cover it. I was lucky enough to be there when it was given. I think 'stunned silence' pretty much describes the reaction of those of us who first saw it.

A noble gift, nobly given to honor a noble act.

My esteem for both the Dread Lord and Glaukos has greatly increased today. Seriously awesome stuff, guys. And in case you were wondering, my opinion of both of you was already pretty high.
