FS Merctailor Splinted Bracers

Post by AL »

I have for sale one pair of the splinted bracers we used to make. Using 8 oz. leather as a base each bracer has twelve 16 gauge steel splints including a large curved central plate riveted on. Each plate is flared at the wrist and the pair is fully strapped with hand made buckles with light decorative chisel and file work held in steel mounts. They are 11 inches high, with a max width of 13 3/4 inches at the fore arm and 11 inches at the wrist and are adjustable downward in size. I am shown wearing one in the second pic and am 13 inches at the fore arm ( no arming coat ) and 9 inches at the wrist. Like to get $80 plus shipping. They will fit in a medium flat rate Priority Mail box for $13.00

Feel free to ask any questions. Paypal, check or money order are fine. If by check or money order I would ask that you be quick in dispatching it as I need the cash to get the crap car back on the road.

I can attest to how well made these are; I still have mine that I got from you two years ago, no problems. Solid; you do fine work, sir.

Tentative dibs

Mild, stainless, or spring? I'm assuming mild.

Do these have an attachment point for cops?

Mild steel, no points these are just the standard splinted bracers we used to sell, with thicker steel ( we used to do these in 18 gauga normally ) and hand made buckles with steel mounts rather than cast buckles in leather.

I really do wish I had gotten a pair of your brass and steel splinted greaves back when you had those.

No worries, there were second and third dibs lined up behind you. Second dibs will most likely take them.

One of the very first things I did on closing was scrap out every single piece of brass I could find ( including picking up thousands of clipped rivet shanks off the shoppe floor ). Other than boxes of rivets that I order I don't have a stich of brass in the shoppe.
