Wallace collection book WITH digital catalogue

Knowing that the late 14th - early 16th is not so common as later stuff, maybe I will buy the book on its own as a taster to see how much there is for me.

For someone who is mroe interested in 14th/15thC stuff, would one or both of Carlo's books be better suited? The idea of the USB with multiple shots from different angles is very tempting.

Carlo's books should be purchased too, but they are a very different beast. The images are huge, well posed and well lit. But they show what Carlo wanted to show. Great detail, but not the overall form of the piece. I have all 3 and encourage them, but they really aren't the same thing at all.

When I first got the Churburg book by Carlo my reaction was "great book. I am glad I have the real catalogue too so I know what the pieces are."

Between Churburg, the Wallace and the RA you do get several 14th - 15th c pieces, but a lot are still later because that is what people own.

I bought the book at pennsic, had no idea there was a digital part to it... now off to find out if I can buy the thumb drive without getting the book again.

If you find a way to buy the stick by itself, tell us. I couldn't find one. I was basically looking for a way to avoid shipping charges.

The Wallace does not sell the stick separately. Since that is the basic source for the thing, I expect you can't get it.

If you got the book on Amazon, it was cheap enough that you might as well give up and just buy the whole thing. The hard cover is nice and the box is nice too.

Bit of a thread necro, but that might help out a few newcomers.

I just purchased this and the Paggiarino books as a belated Birthday present to myself, and must concur with everyone who said it is amazing. Absolutely worth the money, and I've barely scratched the surface playing with the flashdrive.

The website says stock is limited, but I don't think they ever said what the total run for these was. But if you can, you should pick this up.

Right now, I'm going back to the pictures.

Rise... RISE! Alright, now that I have this thread out of its coffin again, I looked at Amazon UK today and saw the Wallace digital catalog for 80 pounds, as opposed to the Wallace's 175. Heck of a deal, right? But Amazon UK won't ship flash drives to the U.S. Anybody figured out a way around this?

I gave up and paid the full price. It is really annoying, but the book is worth it. We get used to some pretty cheap resources these days.

I had thought about just buying some copies and having them sent/picked up by some nice friendly local person who lives in London and then getting them to mail the thing, but at the time I didn't have a way to get it cheaper, and I don't know if anyone would want to get in the middle of the transaction.

It really should be possible. In fact, I expect if we had planned ahead very carefully, I could have brought some back when I was there. But getting the thing into my hands on a short trip would be a bit ticklish.

If you buy it directly from the Wallace, I expect that they get to keep more of the money. I don't mind that.

I am kinda annoyed with the interface, but the pictures are so fantastic that they remedy the not so user friendly program.
