looking for arming doublet x 2

Post by Filip »

Howdy,

I'm looking for two arming doublet's that will support plate armour, and voiders. I have no issue putting in eyelets for the plate so it is compatible with the kit my brother and I own, however I would like the eyelets for the voiders to be already on the garment.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,
Filip

I have arming cotes in stock but you would have to put your own eyelets in. Most folks would need to put their own in as their armor and body type is not always going to be the same.

What size are you? I have an unused black Revival Enterprises arming coat, size small (38" chest) that is just slightly too tight for me.

It came without eyelets. It's this one here: http://revival.us/14thcgambesonitalianzuparello.aspx

I got it in a trade. These retail for $120.95 (now from Scott "Murdock" Adkins, so you don't have to give your money to Brian Price!). I would let it go for $100 plus postage.

Hi Jeff, XL is way too big for me. It may be ok for my brother. What is your chest?

Check with Gwen and Jeff over at Historic Enterprises.

I have this: http://historicenterprises.com/doublet- ... th=101_135

I love it. Best arming garment I've ever owned. Much better than the 14th century padded stuff which I used to use.

I second Historic Enterprise's Arming jacket. You have to get over the sticker shock, but I too use one for Reenacting and SCA combat. It is definately the best I have found. It is holding up extremely well. I am ordering a sceond one with the voider eyelets sewn in this time. I already have the voiders to sew on. This arming coat is also great for holding up your leg armor the realeriod way. Good luck, regards. Ulrich von Rothenburg o.t.

I'll check out HE arming jackets - thanks for the info. BTW - where did you obtain your voiders?

I'm in the same boat as you, I'm going to order one with the voider holes as soon as I can.

The first time I wore my arming jacket, I just knew this was the right way to hold my legs up. I had used belts, suspenders and all that fun stuff in the past. Since it was buried under the rest of my armour, few people knew I was doing this, but the moment I tied my legs to the arming jacket, everything was... good. Comfortable, usable.
