Stem wear is much to tippy when working in the shop. I would sugest something with a lower center of gravity.

Try one of those stemless wine glasses...might do the trick.

Only proper drinking vessel for a true shop is a lidded stein---keeps all the crap out of your drink and generally you need a large amount of fluids when it's hot out!

If you can find a metal lidded stein it will also survive the occasional "gravity check".

I actually prefer the real thing. Nothing like armouring and drinking a good beer.

I like both recommendations, with the addition of a fine cigar to boot! Instead of wine, or virgin sangria, I occasionally drink grape juice on the rocks with my stogies.

Cheers!

I just want to take a moment to complain about your warm California afternoon. today I spent my day on the side of a building in rain, sleet, snow, hail, and high winds.

the drink sounds tasty though

In hot and dry places your intake during shop work may need to be fairly massive.

Temps in the 90's degF and humidities in the single digits and a good breeze and you can lose a *LOT* of water! Drinking enough beer trying to keep hydrated is a losing proposition---losing fingernails, fingers, hair, toes, nearly complete work, etc...

Yah, even our fighter practices are rough, those evenings where I might need to wear a long sleeve... ROUGH! Keeps me from going sometimes!

And that coastal issue, when its cold, the warmth of the sea, when its warm, the cool breezes of that finicky ocean! Aaaaarrgghh!!!

But in construction... I'm just showing how the right setting, ambiance, refreshment, makes working on stuff, all that much more rewarding, enjoyable, relaxing... for us manly warriors!

I like to take a big cold can of red bull out to the shop with me.
Mostly it's ice tea or ice water in a big quart insulated mug with a drinking top.
Then cold beer as I am wrapping up.

I recall seeing lots of Mt. Dew in shops before.
