And he has promised to make things right for at least one buyer.

I will withhold judgment.

I dunno, even a 'munitions' hat from Ironmonger is pretty damn nice. I'd trust it over a 'very high quality' A/B any day.

Bump in response to this thread. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=165117

It seems he might be in the process of making good, but lets see if that continues before we stop bumping this.

Bump.
Because I actually heard a newbie talking about buying from Ashcraft at a fighter practice. We talked to him and told him to check this thread out.

first read this entire thread.
you could take legal action against him
you could ask those here to do what they can
or you could wait in the hope that hell freezes over

looks like those on the list are not getting items owed for years and he is still doing the same now.

maybe the only thing that will get action will be a mob with flaming torches and pitchforks
forges, stake plates, tools and lots more

I really wish people would stop recommending AB to newbies. Ar least three times last year I talked new folks out of going there for gear when they said "(so and so) said I should get my (whatever) from there"

For this merchant, and others like him, whom you have made purchases from over the internet, you can also file complaints with the USDOJ for the internet equivalent of wire fraud. http://www.justice.gov/criminal/fraud/internet/

I am sorry this happened to you.

For as tech savvy as the SCA seems to be, it always runs on piss poor hand me down information via people who usually never bought armor from AB in the first place.
Watching bad information pour into the ears of new fighters on where and want to buy gear infuriates me.

I always tell newbies (I'm the local KM) to check with me or another experienced fighter before buying anything. That way we can tell them which merchants to avoid, and/or what armour they need, or can wait on.

Ba-bump.

So MJBlazek says up above that A/B has an etsy shop as 'steamfellow.'
Are there any other business names he's actively using? (Had an ad show up on facebook and my kneejerk reaction was that it was A/B under a new name.)

ya know, my only complaint with them is that the edges on my demis they made aren't rolled. so now the cuffs are a bit of a wonky oblong shape, 6 years later
