I am working with a few people (armourers) to put together an affordable harness that is suitable for both balsa jousting and US style jousting.
This is to tie in with our Professional Jousting League series of tournaments that we have planned.

As to Toby's armour, after having seen both harnesses in person I must say I like his current suit more. The MacPherson armour is a stunning piece of work, especially with the gilding and nice details, and as a hallmark for english armours, but his Italian suit by Per is most exquisite, with a likeness of originals not often seen in reproductions.
I've got to say I agree with you here. The black harness is awesome, but his new one is equally cool. Maybe I've just seen the black one too often, and it's lost some of it's wow factor now? One of the reasons I like his Italian one though, is that there are a lot of bad Italian harnesses out there, so good ones really stand out.

Corey, there are quite a few jousting groups in and around Seattle (the Seattle Knights for one). Google jousting and Washington and I think you will be surprised.

Watching my Wife and Daughter skate or my daughter throw the discus is a 1000 times more satisfying than winning any joust....
Now that my jousting helmet is finished, I can share my armour as it currently stands. Still need to do some work on it, mainly leather sewing, but also adding an aventail to the german armet:

Very interesting, could you share the sources used for the design?
Also interested in seeing the wrapper if you have pics.
The design is based on a combination of german Armets, including various examples from Conrad Laib. Here are some more photos, including one with the wrapper. I didn't wear it this weekend, as we were mostly practicing melee riding and cavalry charges.
