Rattan Seax FS

Post by Finnvarthr Finnbogason »

Just off the workbench and still warm! Rattan Viking Seax with hand-tooled leather and punched imitation silver metalwork (zinc-plated steel with aluminum butt-cap...cuz I know somebody will ask). First $125 plus shipping takes this evil stick home.

I'm gonna throw a review for Finnvarthr here...I got my seax I won in the auction from him a few days ago, the pictures don't do these honor at all. The leather and metal work is awesome, and the seax draws quite smoothly, but doesn't fall out on it's own.

Complaint....hmmm...did I have one? Ohh yes, one horribly huge mess up he did, my handle wasn't stained like this one is! Isn't that just awful?!? (major sarcasm). C'mon, that's not even a legit complaint.

I think he is popping these seaxs out for quite the price! Jump on this deal, add some awesomeness to your kit, and get a good backup weapon as well!
The fact that the price must be paid is proof it is worth paying.

If you plan for the worst, all surprises are pleasant.

What exactly would a 14th century secondary look like? As far as I know the saxe was used by fighting men from the 9th century till present.

I get my brass from various sources including Hobby Lobby and ebay. I get the zinc-plated steel from Home Depot and will start using aluminum flashing from there also.
