Low profile gauntlets

Post by Ingvarr »

Aside from finger gauntlets, who makes the most low profile gauntlets out there?

Egg gaunts, covered with the bell removed and either attached on a soft point, or a completely different style entirely.

" Nissan Maxima, Grettr gauntlets. Best hand protection in the game"

I have never seen anything better my self the black ones in pick look like a gloved hand on a sword or gauntlets in many cases they are spring steel and weigh nothing but seem indestructible.

Nissan Maxima is using them on his BON kit, they have held up fine as i understand it.

If the one magic size he makes fit me.... I would own a set :( I held a set in my hands and they just would not fit. I was sad for days after wards that, it took fighting in a crown to cheer me up again !

+1 on the grettir gaunts. Got a pair of the blackened ones and they blend in with just about any kit. They're VERY easy on the eyes 8)

I've always liked Mad Matt's fingered gaunts. But, I can't afford them and they aren't shaped right for my hand.

I've always had a problem with gloves and gauntlets. Anything wide enough to fit, is way too long.

I have dinner plate sized hands,
and my Grettir gauntlets have been fitting me
just fine for about 18 years.
The new spring steel ones weigh about as much as
a pair of leather gloves.

Does he still make them? I've found some comments in places that says he's not. If so, what are the contact details?

Nope. Thats John Gruber. Also a skilled armourer, also a member of my house as is Grettr. Grettr is working on a batch of gauntlets as we speak. They go fast. He does not have a web presence of any nature. If you wish, PM me and I will PM you his phone number.

John Gruber seems a very likable guy... I'm hoping that our two shops continue developing the rapport that it has been... Looking to invite him up our way sometime!

I never had a problem staying in touch with Grettir. I just used the AA to send him messages and he would usually respond within a day or two.
