FS Two Sets Merctailor Spaulders w/ Besagues

Post by AL »

I have for sale two sets of the spaulders with besagues that we used to make.

The spaulders are made from 16 gauge steel with hand rolled and counter sunk edges where appropriate, as well as beveled edges where appropriate. The spaulders articulate on both leathers ( front and center ) and slot riveting ( back ) as per historical examples I used to own. The spaulders have eyelets for pointing but I can install a set of buckles if desired for attachement to a gorget. Includes hand made buckles with steel strap ends with light file and chisel work decoration. Like to get $90 for the set ( well under what we used to sell them for ) plus shipping. They'll fit in a large flate rate box or I can quote Parcel Post if desired.

Nice work as always. Here are a few questions I have. What are the measurements on these? Specifically interested in width and depth at bicep. And would you have an approximation on shipping rates to US 17011?

Thanks

I am interested, as well, but need the information requested above with 27526 as the zip, and, like Wimpy, your forbearance until Tuesday. If they fit, they will even out my rig quite nicely.

In the picture I have on a T shirt, long sleeved shirt and a wool sweater ( working in a basement underground, it takes considerably longer to warm up than the rest of the house once spring sets in ) which come in at around 14.5-15 inches around ( so figure an arming coats thickness for the extra material for my normal 13.5 inch biscept, unclothed). The lames are tapered upwards in cicumference and are about 8 inches long. I took into account arm harness when making the circumference so they are not a tight 14.5-15 inches around to allow for that.

According to the USPS website for that zipcode, using my packaging will be cheaper ( by about $5 ) for shipping to you giving you $12.45. So $12.45 + $90.00 = $102.45.

Anything else feel free to ask.

Makes me sad my biceps are thicker than that. And I don't trust myself to adjust them as I'd ruin the beautiful lines you have.

AL's stuff is simply top notch. If I had ever needed to use medieval armor for true life saving protection in a battlefield, he'd probably be my first source. The man is as awesome as the armor, BTW.

My bicep is 15.5 bare, and I'm drinking milk. I'll have to keep looking.

Already adjusting the curvature of the plates for the first set for daithi who posted above, not a big deal to do so for the other. If you want to get a biscept circumference in you arming coat, I can do the same for the second. PM me if you're interested.

Just adding to what everybody else is saying. I love Al's work. I have a full harness from him and it's protective as hell. I'm like a walking tank! I don't feel hits, I have to judge by sound or how much I move from impact. His stuff is Great! every time I see another thread from him, I wish I had more funds just to collect or build different kits.

Al, Thanks again for your work. Wish you the best.

Awesome!, they got here today. They're so nice and shiny...and not just because of the oil! I'll post pics once I've added some new points to my pourpoint.

Best AA score yet.

Quick and dirty pointing for rough positioning. I gotta says thanks again to Al for adjusting the fit. They work wonderfully.

Sorry for lack of color, apparently in color the camera wouldn't focus cleanly enough to satisfy Avitoria
