WTB Coat of Plates plates...
I'm in the market for COP plates for the new canvas shell Im getting made...
Looking to this pattern...
http://www.armourarchive.org/patterns/w ... ns/wb2.jpg
I want a few small plates for my back along the spine
My waste and chest are about 48 inches without padding
from my collar bone to wasteline is about 20 inches
Stainless steel or (prefered) spring steel.
Thisis a rush order as I'd like to make before Pennsic.

I second what Hamish said. Buy a kit from Jamie at Polar Bear Forge. I got one of his prototype kits and it was awesome.

3rds for Jamie's kits. Just keep in mind you get them flat & have to do some shaping.

The not shaped thing is the only thing stopping me. Can you just bend them by hand?

The stomach plates in front can be done by hand. I've done it on the edge of my work bench.
You can leave the side plates flat or you can shape them. Shaping tools can be as simple as a couple 2x4's and a hammer.

Re: WTB Coat of Plates plates...
I used a slip roller for the side plates. You just need a little dish to them. If you want them formed, you could go to any sheet metal/body/machine shop and they would shape them for 20 bucks or less. I would do it for you if you want.
