FS: Armstreet Sugar Loaf (SOLD)

Post by Thomas MacFinn »

As part of my new quest to both pay the past-due mortgage and buy a new helm, I have an Armstreet 14 gauge mild steel sugar-loaf for sale (http://armstreet.com/store/armor/sugarl ... ment-armor).

It has never seen combat. When new, the helmet was bartered to me because the original owner did not like the finger-wide gap at the top of the visor, but Armstreet fixed this and the gap is only 3/16" now. The enclosed photos were taken moments ago.

I have a short neck. The helm fits a 24" head but during the improvement process ended up too tall below the eye slots for me. It is 9" from the eyeslot to the lowest point on the front of the helm.

From the highest point on the side of the helm strait up to between the eye slot and the hinge rivet is 6".

New, they regularly sell for $420 (plus $62 shipping from the Ukraine), but are on sale right now at http://armstreet.com/store/armor/sugarl ... ment-armor for $349. Although this is "better than new", I will accept less. Make me an offer. I can either ship it immediately or arrange Pennsic delivery.

I never stay in one place for three of my opponent's blows. I also never let my opponent throw three unanswered blows. Standing in front of your opponent lets him perfect his pell technique. Most fighters are very good against a pell. - Duke Gyrth

I wish I had thought to take a picture of the helm with the visor up to show how much overlap is above the eyes. Despite the tall visor it has a standard brow inside.

Do I hear $330 including shipping?
