While I might agree with your sentiment normally, in this case the insult was directly towards their prowess. It seems only fitting that an offer of direct demonstration of their prowess be the form of response.

I am surprised this thread has gone on this long. It should have been locked after the OP admitted he was wrong. I understand how some people can get upset over his comments but, sometimes it is the more honorable thing to do is to just walk away instead of posturing up on someone.

Personally I find this a lovely topic, since many of the respondents have rendered most courteous offers to test their suitability.

If/when I come out to the East Coast I'll be sending PM's to those individuals requesting similar demonstrations, and asking what their weapons of choice are so that I can come appropriately prepared.

I'm hoping to find the time to come and the renown / prowess / luck to Qualify to fight in CotT next year, so I'm sure that my "education" could be furthered by the gentlemen in question on the same trip.

I find it ironic (but very middle ages) that while I "play" a French loyalist with Fealty to Charles VII, my "hometown" in the Aquitaine is firmly English until after the close of the 100 years war.
