Which training vids speak about power generation?

Post by Tally »

I am specifically looking for video training on how to get the hip into a shot. Trimaris Duke University November 2011 video with Duke Ranvaldr talks about this. Who else explains this well that's on youtube?
Thanks

Paul is definitely the starting point on how to understand power generation. Something that is worth recognizing is that the impulse does not initiate with the hip but with the abdominal muscles in the hip abductor.

I've found that standing on your shield foot, sword foot off the ground, and focusing on throwing the sword hip forward helps to make the conscious connection between the hip abductor and the hip and the initial impulse for starting the blow.

I can show you the shot generation thing he was working on with me.
Its a cool drill that I know you'll pick up easily.

Agreed. Duke Gaston challenged the Dukes to Res Ducis on you tube. It was very active for a few months, but Nada since then. Duke G's videos were great.
