WTB 6 panel hat

Post by marcus the pale »

Looking for a decent Scandinavian 6 panel hat. Vendor options, or if someone has an extra sitting around they would be willing to part with. I have a 23.5" dome. Thanks.

I have a Historic Enterprises hat in yellow and brown herringbone wool with very little mileage (this one: http://historicenterprises.com/hat-viki ... ath=99_190) that I took apart and re-tailored to try to get it to fit a little better, but didn't quite achieve what I was hoping for. I ended up re-sewing it entirely by hand, flat-felling the seams and adding a linen sweat band. I have a 23.5" head myself and it comes down generously over my ears. I will post a pic if interested. It's worth a bit more than the original HE price due to the hand labor, so I'll call it $25 shipped.

Marcus, check with Thorgrimr. He has made a few and they look pretty good.

Marcus, my husband and I have made up quite a few of these over the years. I could make you one up for $20 + about $2 to ship. This would be machine sewn with a handsewn hem.

I have a decent range of winter wool in stock (go here and scroll down to 'Shetland wool'). If you don't see the color you're looking for, shoot me a PM, since I might have unlisted wool scraps in still more shades.

Thanks,
