WTB Reasonable/Authentic arm rings and twist finger rings

Post by wAUrrior »

Does anyone know anyone who manufactures some base metal arm rings? Also in search of some viking inspired finger rings(ywist or otherwise)? Looked on the web and there is no middle ground it seems for these items. Either museum quality high end or flimsy and made more for a child's gift basket. I've attempted the armrings myself with different gauges of wire and have failed to meet a decent standard. Thanks for any push in any direction.

There are some cool finger rings on Etsy. Search viking ring. Raymonds quiet press has some reasonable arm rings.

Thanks all. I have my personal arm rings which are more high end. I need a stash of some to give as tokens and to use for thanks to friends and other individuals. So for some huge service or great act, I would have no problem gifting my silver museum quality arm ring. But a supply of nice looking, sturdy gifting rings to give to someone for especially motivated camp work say, would be nice.
Sorry I wasn't more clear in my topic.

A lot can be done with some bailing pliers and copper wire.
a little decorative work or even some copper patinas can realy add a lot.

I attempted that, my work was less than inspiring. I did some passable rod bending tied with copper wire and with practice will be better. I also used some copper and bronze paint paint (the ones with real copper/bronze in them) and they were okay, just not quite right. I am in contact with someone from AA currently and hoping a true artisan can help knock out a fairly large stash. I would like to get a good affordable design to use as site tokens one day in addition to my using them for gifting and tokens.

Once you look at the extant pieces enough to get an idea what they should look like, check out ebay. Search for key terms like (tribal, tibet, alpalca, mexican) silver and ring and twisted, braided, etc. If you are willing to do so searching, you can get some really nice things for under $10. Sometimes even sterling pieces.

If your budget is more like $50 or less, there are also designers that make pieces "inspired" by old norse finds like David Andersen (commonly misspelled David Anderson so search for that too) jensen, koru kalevala. I also sometimes search the descripyion for the terms Norway, Sweden, Iceland. These are sometimes in sterling which may go beyond your price range, but sometimes they are also in pewter.

Here are some examples:

You can also get strands of real pearls and gemstones.
