Hi
the lames can be curved quite easily by using a grooved stump and a rounded hammer. hold your piece 90 degrees across the groove and make a line of hammer strikes across the lame(in the direction you want it to bend). they should bend the metal a bit. now make another line right next to the first. repeat until the lame curve is close to the cop. then bend it to match the cop with your hands.
14ga ss or titanium requires a hammer to shape the lames but any other ga or metal ban be hand shaped.

I do not just curve my lames but dish them. This gives them better movement, closer fit and added strength.
Check my article onb using g-jaws for articulation in the essays section.

I will eventually get around to editing my articulated joints article...

But yeah, a slight dish in the lames will generally improve the function.

As to matching the curve, just put the two pieces next to each other, and see where they don't match, and bend them to match. Work from the center out.
