WTS lamellar

Post by holyone »

I have a lamellar rig made up of the eldesar brass colored plates they are T6- 6061 Alloy Aluminum. it was worn MAYBE 6 times. It is 855 plates I'm looking to get 600 plus shipping or best offer. The retail value is 555 and some change but this is already wove into a vest. I'll get some pics up soon.

Its built for men of heroic girth should fit up to a 64ish inch trunk.

Nope. Just an average sized Gleann Abhann knight.

Just saying that the site states a normal size person should estimate 450 plates for a set, so you could almost make 2 sets out of this.

I call bullshit. We have many lean pretty knights in Gleann Abhann. :D

At 5'7" and a lean 160 lbs I am not the smallest knight. Taller than 3 others!
And yes to me that's a big deal. :D

It is a very nice suit by the way, and Rey makes a great point to make 2 suits.

You could probably restring it and outfit at least 8 midgets, just saying. That's only $68.75 a Midget

 Mr. midget here says our king has a good point Sir James. If it falls through with George....tentatively I will be interested, but if my lady finds out I'm armour shopping again, well I don't need to finish that sentence.

Don't hold it for me, I was going to buy it because

A) James needs mail
B) it would fit my viking kit to be
C) because if I don't spend some of my bonus on armour it would be bad luck.

If anyone else comes up with the cash sell away.

Just for sizing questions....Eikbrandr says on his site...
A 500 plate vest fits my 6′ tall, 220 pound frame with a lightly padded gambeson on. It weighs in at 8 pounds for the vest.
So to fit a 64" trunk, as holyone says, I would say 850 plates probably isn't too far off. It looks to be 9 or 10 rows that go around the body....figuring that's only adding 35-38 plates (with overlapping) to each row to upgrade a suit to fit a lean Eikbrandr to a 64" trunk of a hero of heroic girth.
The fact that the price must be paid is proof it is worth paying.

If you plan for the worst, all surprises are pleasant.
