I am currently interested in researching the Norman Invasion of England and the underlying causes. Any titles that you could suggest would be helpful. Thank you

My Latin is terrible or I would play with a book I ended up with from my father's library.

He collected early print versions of older works. I think he only bought this because it was cheap, but it is a book that contains a set of related texts from earlier manuscripts. This book was published in 1619.

It includes a bunch of stuff. Norman Chronicles - which seems to talk about the "normans" from 838 to 1220, some eclesiastical history, Acts of King Stephen, Some more Norman Chronicles, A list of the names of the Normans who lived in "Anglia ante conquestum", and a bunch of other lists of people including feudal relationships of the normans. Then it goes on to include some charters for Richard and John and some others... then on to a family tree for the dukes o normandy and some other family trees.

Someday maybe someone should have a shot at it. If anyone wants to come by and play with it, I am sure we could arrange something.

Not read it or even flipped through it to look at the plates but I imagine Osprey's Hastings 1066 campaign book would be a decent jumping off point, if only for providing other sources to chase down.

What was the title of the book from 1619? It might be on the translated on TTH database. I can't read Latin so I will have to use translated texts.
Any other texts that might be useful?
What about research on the Bayeaux Tapestry? Would looking into that be helpful in your opinions?

That might be of interest to collector interested in the subject as its the earliest extant edition of some of those texts.

It is exactly that book. Well, the copy I have is a different copy, but the book is the same.

It appears to have lots of fun stuff in it and everyone has access to the book online. Ain't the modern world grand? My dad would have absolutely loved this new world.
