aventail from losthelm (review)

Post by tim_Belcher »

finally got this mounted so i think i should review now
(yes i did a crappy job of mounting it but it should get a more permanent mount soonish)

first off it was a butted aventail custom maid and sized to fit my helmet

communication was excellent all the way around.
item was created quickly and shipped immediatly.
price was a steal for the product i got.
product is well made, the links are cut clean and there are no missing or malformed rings

lets see if i can post a pic on my helm

5's across the board if you use that scale

to tell you the truth i don't have the equipment to drill them or mount them so i drilled the helm and laced it using 550 cord. eventually when i have access to the proper hardware i will put leather on the top of the aventail and install it with vervelles

Looks good Tim. Paint that bar across the eyes black and it will help it disappear.

I'm mildly curious where you got the helm, I like the style and it would work well with my persona.

yes i got the spagen from accdntprone, not sure if he is making at the moment but he does do good work(i got the helm from a 3rd party, but the deal was good all the way around)
if accdntprone is not selling currently i think otto has a similar pattern

i think its a fairly common build from him, but all in all a good hat
mine ended up with a 4 point chinstrap and some closed cell to pad it
