I offer 10 Gold Florins to the First person who can send me proof of them taking Baron Maximillian Von Halstern to task for his Crimes against Hilarity at Gulf Wars.

Is this the same (blind) King John of Bohemia who died fighting the English while on the side of the French in the Hundred Years Wars? If so, I fail to 'see' your point...

Nissan:

I posted a terrible pun on Facebook in the hopes that it would incite folks to seek punishment in retribution for such a misdeed and in that way improve the quality of my opposition on the pickup field at Gulf Wars by having some of the greats (many of whom I am fortunate enough to consider friend on and off facebook) seek me out directly. My strategery has worked as hoped. MJBlazek was just helping me out by amping the volume. Of course, I will *always* be happy to cross swords with you at all times and need no faux justification -- especially if you will help learn me where some of my greatswording needs improvement...

Hey, I'm trying man.
Just trying to have a little fun, and no one seems to want free coinage.

They must really not like you Max. :P

Your Dread Lord'ness,

His Crime is that against Hilarity. Affronting Women and Children with Puns, and Snickering at his own jokes in flagrant fashion.

I'll take a swing at him if I see him, but considering my experience level, don't expect much.

Edit: Having though about it, and thus realizing Max and I should both be on the French side (assuming he was talking about this during the deed), Consider my earlier statement void. And yes, I'm quite stupid in the afternoons.

Max, I can't speak to your guilt or innocent regarding the professed charges, but I'd be glad to do some greatsword duels with you.

Max, I don't know you well enough personally to pick you out on the pick up field but I will be there and won't be to hard to find, ask anyone under the D'Wald field pavillion and they should know where I am (if I am not there). I would be happy to scrap a bit with you.

I come bearing a missive from Sir Cecil de Tourleone, Knight Commander of the Brotherhood of Steel

To Baron Maximillian von Halstern, do I Sir Cecil de Tourleone send greetings.

As men of worth and arms are wont to do, we both march to the fields of war to advance our Queens colors. In this time of honorable combat and righteous battle do I challenge thee to a deed of arms to resolve this matter of punnery most foul. A trinity of trinities to be fought with the weapons of true chivalry. Three bouts each between us shall be fought with Longsword, Broadsword and Buckler, and Broken Lance. Let these nine clashes of iron and will be remarked and noted upon, and let our chivalry be proven upon each others bodies, at noon on the Monday of Gulf Wars, beneath the shade of the great tree.

I shall bring with me the assembled host of my Free Company, all of whom shall offer you good battle should you desire it of them after we have resolved between us this punnery.

What say you?

Sir Cecil de Tourleone.

Sir Cecil de Tourleone.
Sir Cecil:

Fair is foul and foul is fair in Love and the Humours as much as in War - as all Noble men of Chivalry do know and may well attest. Though of late I may well have succumbed to the perfidy that oft accompanies bad Humours, I am much recovered and do again march to war advancing the righteous cause and Honor of my new Queen and Kingdom in the Chivalric pursuit of honorable combat and worthy Deeds of Arms.

It would be an honor and privilege to stand beneath the shade of the great tree at Gulf Wars to resolve the matter of my most foul punnistry and redeem my name and noble standing and prove the justness of my cause by Chivalric right of arms against a Noble adversary, both Courteous and Proue.

Though no longer a commander of men on the field, I will be accompanied by my Lady, the Countess Fiona, and those of my newly adopted Barony of Small Gray Bear and Kingdom of Gleann Abhann that might see fit to witness our Deed and my quest to free my good name from further calumny and shame.

I say there shall be glory and Chivalry afoot, and our arms shall tell the tale of our worth and righteousness!

Thankful for the chance thusly afforded, I remain,

Baron Maximilian Von Halstern, Esquire.

He accepts! Justice will prevail!

I want a picture sent to me after Gulf Wars showing the Victor, who I will then send the Prize.

Can't hurt! Metaphorically, of course. Could hurt physically, but pain is the best teacher -- and nature's way of telling you the weakness is leaving your body.

And that sure does explain why you love looking at the stuff so much, I reckon...
