I am repairing and enhancing a chainmaile shirt I purchased. The rings are half an inch across when closed.
I have rips to fix up and the sleeves need lengthening.
As of right now the entire thing is butted, so I can add closed rings in.
I ordered the 1/2" rings from the ring lord, (and found out that they are not actually 1/2"), which I am using on the sleeves, so those would work too.
Thanks

Is 1/2" the ID or OD?
What gauge wire is used?
How many rings do you need?

What are id and ud?
The Ring Lord rings are 12 (regular) and 14 (black). The originals are smaller I have no idea what the gauge is. I would be ok with varying gauges.
I am not sure how many I need, I feel like I nee a to about 200-500 for my current goal.

ID is the inside diameter OD is the outside diameter.
Wire size can have an effect on how the garment moves.
A pair of mircomiters can be useful or you could compair the rings from TRL to what you already have.
I have some 16 gauge stainless and should be able to cut a few rings next week if its the right wire size. I have a little 13 gauge as well.

Ahhh outside is 1/2" on the originals. Inside for the RL rings, I think.

I would normally recommend west coast chainmail (www.chainmaildude.com) But their stainless is currently unavailiable due to problems with their cutting machine :-/
