WTB Helm, clamshells, and low profile basket hilt

Post by Blackfyre »

Hey folks, I'm specifically looking for either a Knotwolf or Shamrock spangen or something similiary good looking with aventail.

I'm new and and slightly confused, so I appreciate you taking the time to communicate with me.

It seems like neither of these guys are taking custom orders anymore. Is anybody out there making similar helms of that quality?

Also looking for T6 clamshells and those nice low profile boxy basket hilts.

Any suggestions or anybody looking to sell used?

Thank you for your time!

I love the stainless conical spangen I got from Dave. It's sexy and built like a tank. I'm pretty sure Pitbull armory is also taking commissions at this time. Icefalcon armory will probably have what you're looking for in stock.

Blackfrye,

Welcome to the Archive.

It would be helpful to know what your budget is.

Bokalo's Armoury http://www.bokalosarmoury.com/ has excellent gauntlets in T6 and you might find the basket hilt there too. He is great to work with.

Good Luck!

Jackie from Shamrock builds for us now, so you can still order his designs through us. We can also help you with all of the other gear you need.

Drop me a line if you are interested.

Cheers!

Welcome to the archive, Blackfyre.

Some things that may help, in future postings where you are looking for something.

1. List your size for anything that comes in multiple sizes. For helms, measure your head at the brow line.
Its not a perfect measurement, as custom helms need more than that- But its a necessary starting point when looking for used helms. :)

2. List your general location. We have a lot of helpful folks here, and may have tools and are willing to help get new fighters geared.
Knowing where you are may cause folks to offer assistance or advice, since you could potentially meet up for a weekend armoring session in your area.

3. List your price range for what you are looking for, and preference for construction and materials. (IE stainless, mild, etc.)
Lots of folks have extra gear squirreled away in closets and garages. Sometimes just finding someone else is looking for a similar item to what they have and don't use will prompt them to reply.
(Packrat-ism is a common symptom of being in the SCA...)

I swear theres a real need for an officially recognized and organized quarterly or yearly mass garage sale for each kingdom or barony in the SCA where everyone can show up and put out a blanket with their extras and oddments...

So you can exchange your old junk with others for new junk, you know...;P
