Chin Strap Problems
hey guys. I recently installed an ACH 4 point chin strap into my helm but I am having problems with it. It holds my head tight to the TOP of the helm and that plus the padding make it a snug fit, but any force to my grill from my nose down will push the helmet downwards and into my nose. I cant figure out how to strap the helm to keep it from moving horizontally. Any tips? Pictures/video would be appreciated

Hey Aleksei,
Where are your 4 points? (pics of the helm are best, as it does differ as to style)
Often this issue is if the mount points are too far forward (they should be around your ears in terms of positioning)

Re: Chin Strap Problems
Are you using foam for padding? Pics would help. foam has a tendency to make things slide around. if you make a period helm liner, or encase strips of your foam in fabric, it will conform better to your head and not rotate as much. however you may have the two back points too high up to create the proper support vectors. cant really tell without pics of the helm though.

Re: Chin Strap Problems
I always had luck using temples and earlobes as mount points.
Stuff I will trade for: PWM controllers, steel sheet/rod/bar (4130/410/1050/toolsteel), ITC, casting supplies, wood tools, silver, oxpho blue, gun stuff (9luger/357mag/12g/7.62x54R/22LR), hammers, stakes, or pitch me!

Re: Chin Strap Problems
Your lower attachment points should be at or under your ear lobes, I believe.
