Looking for mini metal plates

Post by Charles Alexander »

Anyone know of any plates like these that can be bought in bulk for a reasonable price?

Possibly industrial surplus or something along those lines. Something workable, doesn't have to match.

I'd also like to find a place to buy those plates. I've seen aprons made from that stuff sold under the name Lamex, but never been able to find loose plates.

Edit.. well, I just looked at the name of that jpg file and found that I probably haven't told you anything you didn't know already

Thanks, though I suspect direct from the manufacturer would cost an arm and a leg.

get plates cut yourself or ask others to get them done, I would get them laser cut but shipping to you would cost a lot
forges, stake plates, tools and lots more

I could make those. Price would be dependent on material, level of finish, size and quantity desired. I /think/ I even have tooling already to punch the basic plate shape, which would save start-up cost. Email if you'd like to discuss it.

Holes I could punch myself. Aluminum or stainless preferably. I'd say 20 gauge or approx.

Bump as I only need enough for shoulders on my scythian kit attempt. Want to find that tag place later.

Speaking with Clang, got some estimate costs for a similar design -

1000 plates in steel: $120 to $220
1000 plates in aluminum or stainless: $150 to $250

Prices can go down for a bulk order. Who else is interested?

Size is adjustable per order but 1 x 3/4 inch is the size I'm inquiring about. Shape is the same in the posted pic, double-D shape. Price estimate per 1000 is given, for larger orders discount isn't specific yet.
