Finished some projects, a can openerr and a messer of sorts.

Post by Armourkris »

I've had an abundance of free time the last week or so so I've been clearing out my stack of 3/4 finished projects, these 2 I'm fairly happy with.

The hammer started it's life as a masonry hammer before I started to re grind it, then once I had the head shaped it sat and gathered dust for a couple years before I finally got around to finishing it. it made really short work of the old chair on my deck. It's mean and scares me even in my armour, I think that means I did it right.
I dont have any weight specifics, but the head feels similar to a 20 odd oz. framing hammer. the haft is 24" over all and made from hickory.

The messer started out as a beefy machete. I cut the clip point into the end, took off the edge and rolled over the point to make a rebated simulator for my brother. The hilt was a rush job and as a result I'm not totally happy with it, with that said it's a pretty huge step up from a blunt machete and served to get him a rebated blade for $20 and some elbow grease.

Nice hammer I could use something like that some days although the law might frown on my use of it.
