No prices listed with items is always a flag for me.
You have to push the little yellow button to load it.
Re: B.K Enterprises?
Alas the original site doesn't have prices either...usually custom shoe makers are finicky about prices...

It's usually pretty expensive to make good well fitting custom period correct shoes. Lots of time in the hand stitching of a pair of welted turnshoes with a secondary wear sole. There are also not a lot of sources for them so the maker doesn't have a lot of price competition. I'd suspect the shoemaker wants to set the hook before the potential customer dies of sticker shock.
It's funny, since I have made a few pairs of period shoes I am more willing to spend money on good reenactment shoes that I will wear a total of a few weeks a year than I am on modern shoes that I may wear half the days of the year!

Amen, brother. Everything else can be used, slightly sub-par, etc etc. but never, ever skimp on the footwear. It's funny, since I have made a few pairs of period shoes I am more willing to spend money on good reenactment shoes that I will wear a total of a few weeks a year than I am on modern shoes that I may wear half the days of the year!

I am finding an appreciation for craftsmen and women who make medieval things...the amount of work and time and attention to detail...you notice who takes shortcuts and who does and how it makes all the difference...Johann ColdIron wrote:Belemrys wrote:Alas the original site doesn't have prices either...usually custom shoe makers are finicky about prices...
