Review: Knotwolf Armory

Post by MicRidley »

My fiance surprised me the other week with a beautiful new helmet. A knotwolf Mongol hat.

Prior to this I'd fought in a hjalmr spangden and then an accdntprone Mongolian helmet. Both were good helmets, solid and functional. Yet they both had a little more room to them than I needed. They have both been donated to good homes and are getting good use from two happy new fighters. I wish my first loaner hat was as nice as either.

However, I have never worn a helmet that is such a perfect fit. There isn't excess headspace, so less side to side, front to back wobble after padding. The grill sits exactly where it should. And there is no confrontation between the helmet and my gorget!

The helmet is of solid build, without any questionable design. And it is absolutely gorgeous. The bronze work is not only on the helmet, but also on the leather drape.

To top it off, my lady says that knotwolf was a gentleman the entire time, and was fast to reply to her many many questions.

The only problem with this hat is that it almost outclasses me! I fought in crown and squires the other weekend and found that I have to fight even harder because people assume I know what I'm doing! Obviously I'll have to up my game.

Thank you knotwolf for making the last helmet I feel I'll ever need, it is obvious why your work is so highly recommended.

-Mic

Nice! Welcome to the world of epic helms. I always tell people that someday my skill with a sword may someday match the quality of the my helm.

Thanks for the kind words guys, I like a happy customer.

Mic, your fiance was a real sweetie to deal with, she'd obviuosly put a lot of thought & effort into the gift. And very genorously done on your part to help new fighters along with good gear.
