I have been trying to contact (email) Ironmonger Armory about ordering his 'Heavy List Combat Archers Helm', or a version of. But have not received any reply.
Is he still in business? Not taking orders? On vacation?
I am looking to buy a robust Stainless Steel Kettle Helm (or Chapel de Fer) to use for SCA wars. Living in Central An Tir (Western WA) I will only buy Stainless Steel helms now. And I need robust with a reinforced brim, so it does not cave in like the Morion of someone I know has had happen. Prefer 12 ga SS dome.
I would like a Spangen looking dome for an earlier looking version. Wider bands with double rows of rivets. Sloped Brim, not flat. Or if not available at all with a Spangen looking dome, then one styled like the Goliath Maciejowski (though maybe not that large ;v)~.
I plan to hang on it myself a Master Knuut SS Long Aventaille to simulate the chain coif.
Any other armorers out there that will make an SCA Stainless Steel Kettle like I am looking for? I have looked at a lot of Armorers web sites (Ice, West Coast, Illusion, Aesir, Knotwolf, Jolly, Shamrock, Mad Matt, Anshelm and more) and have not yet found what I was looking for.
Sized for 23.5" head + padding. Looking to get by next spring. $480~$900 budget, depending on construction & lead time.
Thanks

He seldom comes to the AA.
I assume that you checked out http://ironmongerarmory.com/ and used thordude@roadrunner.com?
That's the email address I used last year and I spoke with him this past July at GNEW. So, I'd
simply try again. He makes nice helms and I'm very happy with my last one I got from him.

He was at Pennsic this year, up and across the road from us. Dont know about Vacation, but he is definitely still in business. He doesnt specify on his site what events he is vending, but if there is a big one going on he may be on the way, there, or coming home and not able to check emails.

Greetings Cousins,
Yes, I can second that he definately IS still in business and he IS selling heavy list kettle helms,...one of our number ordered the very same helm from him at Pennsic and is in production now...I also picked up a helm. His son is entering the business as well ,so I don't foresee Ironmonger Armoury leaving the scene any time soon.
Yours in service,
James Edgarson

That is indeed the email address I used to send him a couple emails.
Hopefully Eric will get back to me at some point.
Mad Matt, your web site says not taking orders. Though I recall you posting a couple days ago that you were getting caught up and may take on a few more custom orders before transitioning to stock items.
Do you make bargrills in Stainless? Mild steel seemed to be the only option.
Your Kettles look good, but were fairly different from what I was looking for. Thus why I had not tried contacting you.

Yay. Received an email from Eric today.
Guess his reply was getting sent back as undeliverable. Yay Comcast.
Added him to my address book, so hopefully that will not happen again.
Putting in an order for my helms.
Thanks,
Rasmus

I'm still taking orders. Can do stainless grills. I'm planning to switch gradually to an in stock format but for now IM taking orders normally and will gradually start building stock once IM getting orders out on time again. Im nearly caught up and just have a few more orders that are late.
